Reflection:
I really liked learning about forensic science and all the interesting stuff they do, and not only forensic science, I also learned a little about law. One thing I was really interested in was the dusting for finger prints and chromatography. I liked the dusting because I see that on crime shows like CSI and I thought you needed high tech equipment, but you don't really. I liked the chromatography because I liked that the pen dot actually ran up the paper. One thing I liked about the court type presentations was that the mock trial students came and I got to see how juries are ran. One thing I would like to learn more about is the chromatography. I would like to know how the pen runs up the paper, and why. I would also like to know what needs to happen for someone to be guilty. Does the majority of the jury have to convict the person, or does the whole jury unanimously vote to convict? If this project was done again next year I would change it to smaller groups. Our group had five people and we argued sometimes and didn't listen to each others ideas. While doing this project I was on task most of the time, but sometimes I was off task and totally forgot what I was doing. During the presentation we were prepared because we had three days to practice, and I hoped it showed while we presented. One thing I would do differently would be to make the slides shorter and only put bullet points on them. Not sentences. As an overall, my group did a good job staying on task, but there were some moments where we weren't. Like when a group member would get off task we would all sorta follow him for a couple minutes and then realize, "What are we doing." and start working again. I think my group did good during the presentation. The presenters presented our information in a professional way. When the jury asked us questions we knew the answer and responded with confidence. Next time, I think my group would not spend soooo much time putting pictures on our slides and instead, did work. Overall, I think my group made a solid presentation and worked well to get there.
